PsyD Student

Zackary is currently a clinical psychology doctoral student at Loma Linda University's School of Behavioral Health. He received his BA in Psychology with a concentration in neuroscience and behavior from Saint Mary's College of California in Moraga, CA. Zack received a MS in Sport and Performance Psychology at California Baptist University. Prior to joining the CARE Lab, Zack worked in various roles that involved peer mentoring at a substance use residential clinic, ABA work, and consulting. In his most recent role, he worked as a Behavior Interventionist for Intercare Therapy, where he was tasked with utilizing the ABA framework to accomplish goals and track behaviors for individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Prior to his work with ABA, Zack was a self-employed sport psychology consultant, where he helped athletes at the high school and college level with emotional regulation skills, reframing of negative thoughts, and dealing with anxiety in performance settings. It was the interactions with adolescents and young adults through his sport psychology work that motivated Zack to pursue a doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology and research effective mental health prevention strategies for adolescents, that will help adolescents as they begin to navigate stress, anxieties, and pressures going into young adulthood.

It is Zack's hope to connect the research he does within the Care Lab with his work in Sport and Performance Psychology. Zack is passionate about mental health prevention and awareness. He is interested in learning more about mental health outcomes as a result of strategies for mental health prevention.
